South East Stars 139-5 beat Northern Diamonds 138-4 by five wickets
Alice Capsey hit an unbeaten 40 from just 26 balls to steer South East Stars to victory in the inaugural Charlotte Edwards Cup final at the Ageas Bowl today.
The Stars defeated the Northern Diamonds who had earlier overcome Southern Vipers in the eliminator.

The best-placed team will qualify automatically for the final, where they’ll meet the winner of a play-off between the teams finishing second and third – to be played on Wednesday September 22 – to decide who lifts the trophy. The final gets underway at 10.30am.

The eight teams within the new women’s Regional set-up have today confirmed their allocation of professional players – meaning 41 female cricketers have now signed full-time domestic contracts.
In June of this year 25 players signed regional retainers. Today’s announcement adds a further 16 players to the list of contracted professionals and confirms that all 41 have progressed on to full-time
