Press release -

Two new coaching appointments confirmed for England Disablity teams

The England Disability Cricket Performance programme has confirmed the appointment of Jason Weaver as Head Coach of the England Deaf team.

Most recently Jason was Assistant Coach of the England Learning Disability Squad, and his experience includes time at Kent CCC, Shropshire CCC and Cricket Uganda.

Weaver's appointment comes off the back of confirmation that Lauren Rowles has been appointed as Head Coach of England's Learning Disability team.

Rowles, a Central Sparks coach and a part of Warwickshire's girls' pathway programme, had been in the Head Coach role on an interim basis and led the Learning Disability team to Ashes success in Australia last winter.

Fixtures for the 2023 summer for the England Disability Cricket Performance programme and fixtures for the domestic campaign will be announced in due course.

Head of Disability Cricket, Ian Martin, said: "It's nice to be able to confirm the appointments of Jason and Lauren. They're both excellent appointments, who'll bring a lot to our programme.

"Jason is someone who is passionate about coaching and developing players to become the best they can be, as cricketers and as people, and he'll bring a lot to the England Deaf team.

"Lauren has already excelled in the Head Coach role on an interim basis so she was the natural choice to continue taking the England Learning Disability team forward. We wish them both all the best ahead of a busy year for the England Disability Cricket Performance programme."
