    Lancashire’s Smale joins up with the IT20 group today following the withdrawal of Bess Heath who suffered a fractured thumb.

    Wicketkeeper-batter Bess Heath has been withdrawn from England Women’s IT20 squad touring South Africa after suffering a thumb injury in training.
    An x-ray revealed Heath suffered a fractured thumb which means she is ruled out for the duration of the series.
    Heath will now return to the UK to begin her rehabilitation with the ECB medical team.

    Scholfield sustained the injury during a training session on Tuesday and following further assessment she will now return to the UK to begin her rehabilitation.
