South Africa Women v England Women Test match day one: Bouchier and Sciver-Brunt score centuries
Maia Bouchier and Nat Sciver-Brunt scored centuries as England Women recorded 395-9 declaring in 92 overs on day one of the Test match against South Africa at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein.
Nat Sciver-Brunt scored a 96-ball century, the fastest ever in women’s Tests while Maia Bouchier scored 126 on her Test debut.
Openers Tammy Beaumont and Bouchier put on 53 before the former was caught at mid-wicket.
Bouchier and Sciver-Brunt added 174 before Amy Jones’ composed 39.
Five wickets fell for 38 runs in the evening session while Nonkululeko Mlaba was the standout performer for South Africa with 4-90.
Laura Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch negotiated six overs at the close as South Africa reached 17-0.
