Northern Superchargers make final selections for third season of The Hundred

Northern Superchargers have confirmed the final additions to their squads as all eight teams in The Hundred made their Vitality Wildcard Draft selections in the men’s competition and their final round of selections in the women’s competition.

The women’s team added a mixture of experience and youth to their ranks with the retention of popular spinner Lucy Higham, from the 2022 squad, and the addition of Georgie Boyce, Grace Ballinger and local York-based Northern Diamonds player Grace Hall. Leah Dobson replaces the injured Phoebe Franklin.

Grace Hall said: “I’m really happy to have been signed for Northern Superchargers. It will be great to link up with Kate Cross, and it’s obviously so special to play at Headingley. It’s a brilliant competition, with some of the best players in the world, and I’m really looking forward to being a part of it in August!"

The men’s team strengthened their batting, bowling and wicket keeping options with the shrewd addition of two of this season's high-scoring Vitality Blast players. Northants Saif Zaib rejoins the squad, after joining as injury cover during the 2022 competition, adding runs and spin bowling experience, and Durham’s in-form wicket-keeper/batter Ollie Robison also joins to provide options behind the wicket and strengthens the batting order.

Ollie Robinson said “I was delighted to get the call up for the Superchargers. The Hundred is an exciting competition and the Superchargers fans always bring a great atmosphere. I’m looking forward to scoring some runs for the team this summer.”
