India Women level the IT20 series at Derby
India Women 146-2 beat England Women 142-6 by eight wickets
India Women levelled the Vitality IT20 series at Derby with a resounding eight-wicket win, despite a record-breaking half-century for 17-year-old Freya Kemp.
England opted to bat first but got off to a poor start, falling to 54-5. Kemp and Maia Bouchier (34), teammates at Southern Vipers, put on 64 for the sixth wicket to take the hosts to 142-6 and give Amy Jones's team something to defend.
Kemp's 50 was the youngest ever by an English woman in IT20 cricket, and the second-youngest for England Women across all international cricket.
Smriti Mandhana made sure it wasn't to be a match-winning fifty for the young all-rounder, making 79 herself to win the game for India and level the series at 1-1. The two teams will play the final game of the series in Bristol on Thursday.
