England Women seal Vitality IT20 series with victory over Pakistan

England Women sealed the Vitality IT20 series against Pakistan with a 65-run win at The County Ground, Northampton.

Heather Knight’s outfit went into contest having secured victory in their opener of the three-match series last weekend.

Player of the match Alice Capsey and the returning Nat Sciver-Brunt top-scored with 31, Maia Bouchier made 30 and Dani Gibson added 18 from nine balls as England set the tourist’s a target of 145 to win.

From a Pakistan perspective, spinner Sadia Iqbal recorded 1-20, while skipper Nida Dar took 2-33.

Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas were quickly dismissed off two Lauren Bell deliveries, Bouchier coming in to take a catch from deep square for the former and Danni Wyatt’s diving catch for the latter to leave Pakistan 9-2.

Sophie Ecclestone finished on 3-11 overtaking Katherine Sciver-Brunt as England's leading T20 wicket-taker, Bell finished on 2-20 while Capsey took two wickets in one over as Dar’s side ended on 79 all out in 15.5 overs.

On an evening of milestones, Dar also became the overall leading wicket-taker in women's IT20s, a record held by Australia's Megan Schutt.
