England get T20 World Cup campaign off to winning start

England Women beat West Indies Women by seven wickets

England Women kicked off their T20 World Cup campaign with a seven wicket win over West Indies Women.

West Indies finished on 135-7 from their 20 overs. Thanks to 42 from captain Hayley Matthews and 34 from Shemaine Campbelle. Sophie Ecclestone finished with figures of 3-23, while Sarah Glenn was England's most economical bowler with 1-20.

In their chase England got off to a flying start thanks to Sophia Dunkley who struck 34 runs from 18 balls. That was backed up by captain Heather Knight and player-of-the-match Nat Sciver-Brunt who saw England home with an unbeaten partnership. Nat Sciver-Brunt scoring 40 runs from 30 balls, while Knight hit 32 from 22.
