Press release -
Cross and Dunkley star in England Women ODI win
England Women 225-5 beat India Women 221 by five wickets
Five wickets for Kate Cross and an unbeaten half-century for Sophia Dunkley took England Women to a five-wicket win in the second Royal London International at Taunton.
Dunkley's 73 - in her debut ODI innings for England - settled some nerves for the home side after they fell to 92-4 and then 133-5. She was aided by Katherine Brunt, the pair putting on 92 for the sixth wicket.
Cross - awarded Player of the Match - took 5-34 as India were bowled out for 221. Her figures were England's best in a home ODI since Anya Shrubsole's 6-46 to win the ICC Women's World Cup in 2017, and her best since 2015.
The win puts Heather Knight's team 6-2 up in the multi-format series. The third Royal London International takes place at Worcester on Saturday.
