Sciver-Brunt’s half century helps England Women earn win over South Africa

Nat Sciver-Brunt's half-century led England Women to a four-wicket win over South Africa in their opening IT20 match in East London.

England needed 57 from the final six overs but Amy Jones and Sciver-Brunt hit 22 from the 15th over to swing momentum England’s way and reach their target of 143.

Spinner Charlie Dean was the pick of England bowlers with 2-21, which included the key wicket of Proteas skipper Laura Wolvaardt with Ecclestone, Freya Kemp and Sarah Glenn all taking a wicket each.

South Africa were 64-4 but recovered to post 142-5, Annerie Dercksen and Nadine de Klerk contributing with 26 and 29 respectively.

The two teams are back in action on Wednesday 27 November for their second IT20 in Benoni,
