England Test captain Joe Root will leave the training camp at the Ageas Bowl on Wednesday afternoon to be with his wife, Carrie, who is expecting their second child later this week.

The England & Wales Cricket Board can confirm that the Pakistan men’s cricket team will arrive in the United Kingdom on Sunday 28 June to start preparation for this summer’s tour of England, which includes three Test matches and three Vitality IT20s. England and Sussex bowler Jofra Archer will join England’s behind-closed-doors training camp on Thursday after a member of his household felt unwell over the weekend.
Archer, and members of his household, have tested negative for COVID-19. He will have a second test tomorrow (Wednesday 23 June), and if he tests negative, he will join up with the training group on Thursday.

England National Cricket Selectors, with input from performance personnel and coaches, have named a 30-strong ‘behind-closed-doors training group’ who will go into camp at the Ageas Bowl on Tuesday June 23 ahead of the first Test against the West Indies starting on Wednesd
Former Glamorgan batsman Alan Jones was today awarded an England Test cap, 50 years to the day since he made his only appearance for England in the first match of the 1970 series against the Rest of the World XI.
At the time the matches in the series were classed as Tests but were subsequently downgraded by the ICC, meaning Jones’s status as an England international was lost.
