The countdown to The Hundred is on as the first players signed up for this year’s competition are revealed today ahead of another explosive summer of world-class sport and family-friendly entertainment.
Today’s deadline day sees all eight men’s and women’s teams reveal which players from last year’s inaugural competition they are keeping hold of for 2022.

Essex County Cricket Club (Essex CCC) has today been charged in relation to an alleged racist comment made in 2017 at an Essex CCC Executive Board meeting, and the subsequent failure by Essex CCC to conduct an appropriate, or any, investigation into the alleged racist comment.
The club has been charged with a breach of ECB Directive 3.3 which reads as follows:

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has lifted the suspension on Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) hosting international and major cricket matches at Headingley. The decision follows a rigorous review of progress made against several criteria set out in November 2021 to tackle racism at the club.

On 3 February, a Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) Panel imposed a five-match ban on Alex Davies in relation to the player’s historic social media posts.
Mr Davies, who had been charged with breaching ECB Directives 3.3 and 3.4, will serve an immediate one-match ban with the other four matches suspended for a two-year period from the date of the Hearing. He was also fined £1,500.

England Men's Assistant Coach Paul Collingwood has been appointed Interim Head Coach for next month's three-match Test tour of the Caribbean.
Collingwood, who took charge of England's T20 tour of the West Indies last month, is currently taking a break in Barbados before joining the touring party when they arrive in Antigua on 25 February, said:
